Surjit Singh Kalra was born in Lyallpur in 1933. He lived most of his life in the UK as an educator and Punjabi language activist. In 2010, Surjit suffered a severe stroke which left him without speech and mobility on his right side. During the last 5 years of his life, he benefitted tremendously from the positive potential and possibilities given to him from friends and family who recognised the need for a holistic approach towards life after suffering from a stroke.
